The Sea is Blue, Too Blue, Too Blue

SO THEN it is a day for a moment of silence and a moment of gratitude for that which we do not suffer today, and what others do.
I've linked you and shown you fotografía before of the Oregon coast, and I've told you what a wild and violent (though beautiful) coast it is. I've lived on Miami Beach and I've swum in a few others, and this coast is like something off of a Star Trek planet. Certainly not "beach like" in the sense you might imagine. Windy, cold, rocky, intimidating. Sand blasting your face half the time, and she does not beckon as some warm seacoasts do.
Though the sea always beckons to some, no matter how wild.
There is a man and I see him most days of the week. He is mi waifa's employer. I don't know him personally, only ever waved and smiled at him. He seems quiet, and kind and calm. Long hair, kept in one braid. Single father who lives, or lived, rather—with his son and I guess that is all he had, and it was his life.
He used to have dreams, foreboding dreams from which he'd wake filled with fear. But he could remember nothing but "Don't forget about the horse trailer." Which doesn't sound insightful or scary. But my wife says they were fear filled dreams for him.
Eventually, the dreams stopped. And years passed.
Then yesterday, he suddenly had the dream again. But it was different. And this time when he looked in the nursery—for which his 11 year old son is now too big—there was a horse trailer there.
That was the day, yesterday, his son was spending the day with friends and their parents, swimming on the coast.
Today, this:
DEPOE BAY -- An 11-year-old boy died and a teenager was missing after a rescue attempt this afternoon at Gleneden Beach, Oregon State Police said.About 1:15 p.m., bystanders noticed the 11-year-old struggling in heavy surf at the beach just north of Depoe Bay, said Lt. Gregg Hastings, a state police spokesman.
The boy was with one of two groups at the beach. Two teenagers and an adult who were with the boy tried to reach him but had to turn back because of the rough sea, Hastings said.
Rescuers from local fire and police agencies responded, along with the Coast Guard and state police. About 2 p.m., a Depoe Bay firefighter spotted the boy and swam out to save him. Medics started treatment at the scene.
A Coast Guard helicopter took the boy to Samaritan North Lincoln Hospital in Lincoln City, where he died. His name will be released Sunday, police said.

The quiet man with the braid said he knew when he had the dream yesterday and woke in the morning, that something bad was going to happen that day. The police called him soon after, but he didn't finally find out what happened until he took the hours long drive to the coast. Of course he knows by now.
I don't even know the man but hearing about it last night at dinner and then finding this article today...the whole thing saddens me so. I don't even know him and I want to curse because I wish I did and maybe then, he would have told me he had the dream in time, and maybe...maybe...
No.
That's just how the world moves, I guess. Tears in your eyes even as the sun climbs.
How terrible. I just hope the boy didn't suffer too much.
Salud, little boy. Hope you're home safe now.

I've heard of people having dreams like this, premonitions, if you will. It always seems so removed, so out there. But this story doesn't feel so far away. I hope the father finds peace.
