FROM THE MAILDo you know anything of the blogger of Baghdad Burning? She was at http://riverbendblog.blogspot.com. I have seen that some of her story has been made into books and plays - yet when her family became refugees, they have disappeared since last Oct. Just thought maybe we were missing something. Any info would help, I have been sending emails every month.Thank you, traci
If anyone knows anything, I'm sure Traci and others would appreciate the lowdown.

Well, she's in Syria, having made it there in 2007, but since then there hasn't been a word.
Perhaps she felt that her blog lost its purpose after she moved to Syria, or perhaps she doesn't want to revisit those memories, and just wants to get on with her new life. That's what I'm hoping is the case.
I also hope that if this is the case, that she realizes that she's mistaken and that her unique viewpoint was valued no matter what country it came from.
But unfortunately I have nothing more concrete to offer. I just hope that wherever she is she's safe and in good spirits.

I also emailed the gentleman at Informed Comment. He wrote back and said that she had not contacted him since Syria. He said Syria is safe, but a hard place to blog from. Thanks to all. We wish her and hers well!
